Islamic Marriage
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. May Allah bless you and your family. Our Islamic Center staff and Imam are glad to be a part of this joyous occasion. We want to make sure this will be a successful event for you and your future spouse.
Our Prophet (ﷺ) stressed the importance of men helping their wives and as mentioned in the Quranic introduction above, Allah tells us the importance of women being mates and helpers to their husbands. This is a real “win-win” situation. Husband and wife helping and supporting each other will result in a strong relationship.
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The woman is like a rib; if you try to straighten her, she will break. So if you want to get benefit from her, do so while she still has some crookedness.” – Sahih al-Bukhari 5184
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “All of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards. The ruler is a guardian and the man is a guardian of his family; the lady is a guardian and is responsible for her husband’s house and his offspring, and so all of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards.” – Sahih al-Bukhari 5200
